Agreement

By using BallGuessr, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the game. BallGuessr is operated from Germany by:

The service

BallGuessr is a free entertainment game about football knowledge. You guess footballers from progressive clues in solo practice and a shared daily challenge. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to use online services where you live, or have a parent or guardian’s permission. You are responsible for complying with local laws when you play.

Fair play

You agree not to:

• Use bots, scripts, or automation to play, scrape, or probe the site
• Attempt to bypass daily limits, manipulate shared challenge results, or disrupt other players
• Reverse engineer, overload, or attack the service or its APIs
• Misuse challenge or share links to harass others or spread malware

We may limit or block access if we believe activity harms the game, other users, or our infrastructure.

Daily challenge & scores

The daily puzzle is meant to be one fair attempt per person per day. Knowledge ratings and share text are for fun and bragging rights only. They are not prizes, currency, or proof of skill for any official purpose.

Accounts

V1 does not require an account. If optional accounts are added later for streaks or sync, extra rules (accurate information, keeping credentials safe, no account sharing for advantage) will apply and these Terms will be updated.

Your content

Feedback and messages you send us may be used to operate and improve BallGuessr. Do not submit unlawful, abusive, or infringing content.

Intellectual property

The BallGuessr name, design, game flow, and original copy are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, resell, or create derivative commercial products from the service without permission.

Third-party football data

Footballer names, clubs, leagues, market values, and similar facts come from community datasets (including Transfermarkt-style sources). BallGuessr is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any player, club, league, or data provider. Facts may be incomplete, outdated, or disputed; we do not guarantee accuracy.

Availability

We aim to keep BallGuessr available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, outages, or changes may occur without prior notice.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and for claims under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), as well as where we have assumed a guarantee.

In cases of slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations) — that is, obligations whose fulfilment is a prerequisite for proper performance of the contract and on which you may regularly rely — and then only for typical, foreseeable damage. This limitation does not apply where mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.

BallGuessr is free of charge. Beyond the above, we are not liable for loss of data that could have been avoided by reasonable backup measures on your side, or for purely entertainment-related disappointment (for example a wrong clue or a spoiled daily).

Termination

We may suspend or stop offering BallGuessr, or restrict your access, at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (liability, governing law) will survive.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms, unless mandatory law requires a different form of acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

If you are a consumer with habitual residence in the EU/EEA, you also keep the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
